Price is a little bit high?

Postby bcolak » Tue May 01, 2007 8:00 am

Hi,

Don't you think the price is a little bit high? Flashengine (with sources) sells for $99 and its transparency support is faster. There are some points tflashplayercontrol is better, but the price is exactly not of of them ($799!)

What are benefits of purchasing tfpc over flashengine by ksdev?

Thanks

Thank you for your question.

At the first, our project have a big history. We have 1000+ customers around the world.

Is Flashengine able to load flash.ocx from any stream? No. Flashengine isn't able to load flash.ocx. For example, it means that you can't make your own flash projector.

Does Flashengine still save SWF into a temporary file before loading? Yes. Flashengine saves SWF before loading.

By the way, Flashengine violates Flash(TM), which is a registered trademark of Adobe. Serious bussiness doesn't make such mistake.

Flashengine is a bad choice, becuase all these things mean that Flashengine is just a "student homework" :)

About price. We are planning to increase the price in the future. I don't think that the price is high.

I've just downloaded latest version of this "component". When it loads swf from resource, it creates a temporary file. Moreover, it doesn't delete this temporary swf after closing an application :!: :!: :!:

Flashengine still works with big problems. It still have just two samples. It isn't able to "streaming". And so on.

I didn't want to blame you or make you angry some how, I respect your work and only the developer can say the price of his work. I'm a developer too. As you see I'm asking my question as a openhearted person. Thank you for your answer. I think most of your potential customers will compare your product...

You should include a comparison chart in your web page... Because you have huge advantages.

Only part I didn't get is, violating Flash. What do you mean exactly?

Thank you

Creating a public product which have a "Flash" as a part of the name (FlashEngine, for example) and which works with Flash is prohibited, because Flash is a registered trademark of Adobe.

Really :) Can I also register the "box" as a trademark?

Wow, they can also sue Patrick Schwayze for Flash Dance or maybe Flashdisk producers, or the super hero one if they can catch :)

Just kidding, its just nonsense. To register the "f-word" ;)

However, your product doesn't need these, it's best in the field indeed. FlashEngine ise also good, considering its price it can be used, but it has limited abilities compared to your product apparently.

There is an old Turkish saying, "Killing a brave man is better than dishonouring him".

Keep good working
