Flash control invisible in fullscreen window

Postby tconkling » Tue Apr 04, 2006 7:59 pm

I'm writing an app that can be used in either fullscreen or windowed mode. I'm playing Flash content with the Flash.ocx control by way of FlashPlayerControl, and Flash movies are not reliably playing when the app is running in fullscreen mode. 9 times out of 10, Flash movies will not be visible when they're played (the Flash control will not draw anything to the screen).

Possibly pertinent details:

- This issue never occurs when the app is in windowed mode.
- The audio always plays correctly; it's just the video that doesn't show.
- The fullscreen window style uses the flags WS_POPUP | WS_SYSMENU | WS_VISIBLE; the windowed window style uses the flags WS_VISIBLE | WS_OVERLAPPEDWINDOW. Changing the fullscreen window style (to the windowed window style, for example) doesn't fix the problem.
- The app uses a framework that uses DirectDraw to draw to the screen.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Tim

What is a framework that uses DirectDraw to draw to the screen you use in this application? Can I download it?
If you can give me a project that I can compile and test, it would be great.
Could you try how your application is working if Flash ActiveX is using instead of FPC?
