Try out the Translucency Demo with my own SWF file

Postby redraze » Sat Mar 08, 2008 4:16 pm

Can I try out the Translucency Demo with my own SWF? That way I can exactly know what problems/issues I am going to get into during Flash Production thru Application development.

Thank you for your question.

Yes, we should modify this sample to make this possible... Please wait some time.

I see that the new DLL edition has been posted. Does it have the demo I wanted? Would have been really nice if I could try it my way before buying. Or I could buy it as a 10 day money back if you want? Thanks.

I've prepared the demo for you, here it's:

Launch it, then right-click to the movie and choose "open flash file...".

Thank you.

New problem.

Thanks for the demo earlier.

How do you enable SetEventListner through VB in the translucent Demo? Is there a sample code someplace? What I actually need is to get fscommand and other notifications from the VB application.

You can see how to handle fscommand in the sample Samples\VB6\Sample6_ExternalResourcesEmbedding\Sample6.bas from the demo zip.
But it shows how to handle fscommand by the parent window WindowProc. Not using SetEventListener.

I think, you can create a "hidden" (zero size and WS_EX_TOOLWINDOW) window and use it as a parent for a semitransparent window.

Please check this idea.

Need more support

We tried various things including your suggestions. Here is where we are:

We intend to use your component in a VB environment. We HAVE to get hold of the fscommand and other notifications from within VB.

Do you think, once we purchase the component, your support might be able to help us in what we want? (ps. We are still using your demo version for our R&D).

Yes, of course, we are ready to help you and we are ready to improve the VB6 samples.
