Flash 8 External API

Postby JLM » Sat Nov 05, 2005 4:53 am

Hello

For someone not expert in Vb or anything beyond Actionscript the dll seems far more complex than adding the flash8 ocx to Vb and drag and dropping it to the screen.

I wanted to experiment with activeScriptRuby and flash using Vb as glue.

Hope it is not too cheaky to ask can you point me in the directions of any online documentation that might help me to implement the Flash 8 External API myself in VB/ruby as the fscommand approach does not seem ideal.

Between work so no budget to spend on software, but obviously your dll would be usefull given a real app, but for the moment I just want to figure out the External API workings.

Many thanks

JLM

Thank you for your question.

Currently External API is not supported but it will be included in the nearest release. Hope it will happen soon.

Flash 8 External API is fully supported now by all editions of FlashPlayerControl.
The sample code for DLL edition is available here:
