Scroll Text From VB.NET

Postby Dnx » Wed Sep 20, 2006 9:23 am

Hi all,

before buying this product, i would like to know if it is possible to send a string (whatever the length of the string) to flash movie (via actionscript?) and scroll it on the winform?

if we can a lot customize flash anim, then i will buy immediatly.

also i don't have a lot of knowledge on flash programming so...

You can send a string to movie using External API: http://www.f-in-box.com/dotnet/features ... ternal_api

I'm sorry, I don't understand yuor question about scrolling... Scroll what?...

yes i saw we can send text to flash anim for displaying string (from .net code) to flash anim
so i would like to make the string scroll in the flash anim

example :

.net code :

dim test as string = "dotnetString"
==> send test variable to flash anim with flashcontrolplayer(external api)

so in the flash anim we can see "dotnetString" scrolling in the winform

is it possible?

So in the winform or in the flash movie? If in the movie, you can add a textbox and using timer (see setInterval in flash) periodically change its content:

at start: ...dotnetString...
tick #1: ..dotnetString....
tick #2: .dotnetString.....
tick #3: dotnetString......
tick #4: otnetString......d
tick #5: tnetString......do
etc.

Is that what you need?

yeah something like that (that's a good idea)

or why not (i don't know if it is possible) set a predefined animation in the SWF and then send the string in the SWF and play this SWF in the winform

because maybe one day we will have to make some crazy animation (text with picture (picture will be FLASH SIDE not DOTNET SIDE)) that interact with .net application
