Loading embedded content

Postby seesharp » Thu Jan 11, 2007 4:52 pm

Hi

I just tested loading embedded content. It works perfect as long as the content is made with Flash 8, if I embed Flex content, even a very simple Hello world move and load it with the usual Flash (Flex) loader methods, it loads if loaded from filesystem but doesn't show up when loaded from resource.
Do you have any idea how I can solve that issue?

Thank you.

Please send me such movie to support (at) f-in-box.com

Do you get any exception? Do you mark the movie file as Embedded Resource?

Hi,

I just use the very same code, just replacing the AS2 movie created in Flash 8 by an AS3 movie created in Flex 2.
I send you an example.

Kind regards

Alex

Hi

I just realised, that I have to clarify my problem. Loading the AS3 files with putMovieFromStream (or what the method is called now) works perfectly.
The problem is, I cannot load it using the OnLoadExternalResource.... pathway. It is no problem to load it directly from the file system (using the very same flash loader just with another url), but as soon as I try to load it from resource, nothing happens.

Thanks for the update,

unfortunately, I cannot get it to work, i.e. it still only loads Flash 8 but not Flex movies and I do not get an error message.

The latest version is 2.0.7, please check it.

I've uploaded test application:

Does it work properly?

Thank you.

Yes, the example works, thank you,

I see the problem now, If I load a AS3 movie into an existing AS3 movie using the OnLoadExternalResourceByFullPath method, I get an error using Flas9 Debug Player, in fact it's a security exception. If I load the very same movie using the very same code from the filesystem, it works as expected.

OK, problem solved now, just add the correct value to 'allowDomain()'.

Best regards

Alex
