Problem with Flex titleWindow and Keyboard Input

Postby seesharp » Wed Aug 29, 2007 2:32 pm

Hi

a customer of ours has a weird problem with keyboard input / focus.
When opening a TitleWindow from a Flex DataGrid, it isn't possible to navigate within that TitleWindow using the Keyboard.

Although this works when opening the movie in a browser window, it doesn't work as soon as it is wrapped in f-in-box.

I'll send you a sample file and a detailed description on how to reproduce the problem.

Hi

currently we are trying to figure out how to invoke the problem as simple as possible.
If you look at that location:
http://www.flexing-it.com/test/Janus.html

You see an application with a datagrid. If you enter a slash '/' into the Item Code field and press the ENTER key, a TitleWindow opens loading a new datagrid.

If everything goes well, this second datagrid can be navigated with the arrow keys as expected.

If I load the .swf remotely from the very same site to the application (into f-in-box) it works as well. However, my client has an example, where this second datagrid doesn't react on keyboard input.

That's what we try to reproduce now with a simple application.

Now we nailed down the problem.
First of all, I am sorry once more for making unnecessary trouble.
My customer sent me two versions of his files, a working (in browser) and a non-working (in f-in-box) one. It took some time to realise, that these files are not exactly the same.
Using the same file in browser AND f-in-box revealed, that they behave exactly the same, i.e. f-in-box works as expected!!

The problem is related to Flex and it could be solved by using 'callLater'.

Sorry again and thanks for your support.

Alex
