Transparency over Windows Media Player

Postby seesharp » Fri Oct 19, 2007 8:16 am

Hi

I am trying to get some transparent Flash movie over a windows media player instance. The idea is to show movies (DRM restricted) and have Flash control buttons.

Now, if I just create a transparent form and move it over a freely running WindowsMediaPlayer it works as expected. If I add a MediaPlayer instance to one Form in my application and try to have either a transparent control or a second transparent form overlapping that MediaPlayer - transparency seems to brake down.
Is this problem solvable in any way on my coding side?

Regards

Alex

Thank you for your question.

Could you please send me a small project to test?

Hi

sorry that I didn't follow this problem earlier but I simply couldn't reproduce that problem (once more).
A client reported that the transparency of a Transparent form overlay breaks down using an .mpeg video, if Hardware Accelleration is on.
However, as I couldn't reproduce that problem - let's forget about it at the moment.

Hello,

I'm having the same problem. When i put a transparent form above a windows media video instance inside of my application made in C#.

The transparent flash form begins to flash until the below movie is finished.

Any suggestions to solve this problem?

Thank you in advance.

Unfortunaly, it's impossible to fix, because it's a limitation of layered windows (f-in-box uses layered windows to be semitransparent).
