Delphi OCX, Internet Explorer and the ExternalInterface.Call

Postby damien » Wed Nov 22, 2006 3:13 pm

Dear All,
I have an OCX that contains an instance of TFlashPlayerControl and TShockwavePlugin. This OCX dynamically loads an SWF into the container and then responds to FlashCall events to interact with the rest of our application. When the OCX is run in a delphi test harness all functionality is as expected. However when the OCX control is loaded into a HTML page and opened with Internet Explorer the FlashCall event no longer fires in response to movie interaction.

I am fairly sure this must be a security / privilege issue but I have as yet been unable to resolve the issue.

Has anyone else come accross this and if so did you find a successful workaround / configuration setting.

Any help much appreciated,

Best regards,

Damien Wright.

Thank you for your question.

This a common problem with flash events. If you use flash.ocx in your own OCX, some events don't work. Currently, we haven't solution for that.

We are planning to add one event for communicating between a movie and an application (substitution of onflashcall) that will supported by f-in-box, but now it's not available.
